Blue Whale No. 2 Semi-Submersible Drilling Platform Trial Navigation Agency Service

On the afternoon of July 29, 2017, the sound of the whistle echoed across the clear sky as the Blue Whale No. 2 semi-submersible drilling platform, towed by tugboats, completed all debugging work before its trial voyage and officially departed from the CIMC Raffles deep-water dock for a 21-day trial voyage. This trial voyage marks that the platform will undergo comprehensive performance testing, making full preparations for the successful delivery of the project and operations in the working sea area. The "Blue Whale No. 2" is a super deep-water dual-drill tower semi-submersible drilling platform, measuring 117 meters in length, 92.7 meters in width, and 118 meters in height, with a maximum operating water depth of 3,658 meters and a maximum drilling depth of 15,240 meters, responsible for combustible.

The "Blue Whale No. 2" is a semi-submersible drilling platform with a length of 117 meters, a width of 92.7 meters, a height of 118 meters, a maximum operating water depth of 3658 meters, and a maximum drilling depth of 15240 meters. It is the sister ship of "Blue Whale No. 1," which is responsible for the trial extraction of combustible ice, and is currently the second most advanced ultra-deepwater dual-drill tower semi-submersible drilling platform in the world. The platform was fully designed, constructed, and debugged by CIMC Raffles, featuring a dual-tower dual-drill structure and equipped with a DP3 dynamic positioning system, suitable for global deep-sea operations. The platform is registered with the Norwegian DNV classification society, representing the world's best in terms of operating water depth and drilling depth, and fully reflects CIMC Raffles' advanced design capabilities and manufacturing standards.

As the trial voyage agent for Blue Whale No. 2, our company provided services such as refueling, CCS suitability inspection, maritime towing water engineering certification, maritime navigation warning issuance, arrangements for high-power towing tugboats and escort tugboats, and tugboat services for departure from the port. Our company worked closely with relevant departments of Raffles, leveraging past experience to ensure smooth processing of procedures and provision of plans at port authorities such as Yantai Maritime Bureau and Yantai Pilot Station, thereby ensuring that the platform's trial voyage proceeded according to the established timeline.

We will continue to monitor the trial voyage dynamics of the platform and be ready to provide relevant services based on the platform's needs for material loading and unloading and personnel exchanges, ensuring the smooth completion of the entire trial voyage.
